Join our network of volunteers – both recreational divers and pros – responsible for the protection of the undersea environment in Cozumel. Our Team COR Citizen Science training programs, are informational and fun courses, designed to incorporate theoretical and field activities for the diving public to:
Gain a deeper understanding of our delicate marine ecosystems and the importance of getting involved in their conservation.
Train volunteers in field methodologies that capture information to enrich the database of various Cozumel Ocean Research monitoring programs.
Use the data-based results as evidence to persuade government institutions, tour operators, and diving agencies to bolster conservation policies.
You can become a Citizen Science fieldwork volunteer with Team COR by participating in one of our Cozumel Ocean Research Conservation Programs.
Eagle Ray Meet and Greet
1 Day Program
Support Cozumel Ocean Research by participating in our Spotted EAGLE RAY Meet and Greet. With a $120 donation, participants will meet us to learn more about our organization and our efforts for conservation. We share our Eagle Ray identification techniques, give and overview of protocols for our Eagle Ray Data Collection, and review safe approach procedures. After a quick scuba checkout, we gear up to greet our local Spotted Eagle Rays in the beautiful Cozumel ocean. Programs run almost every day during the Eagle Ray season, December through February, so please contact us.
